All Silver Companions Care Providers are thoroughly screened and a detailed background check and professional reference check is completed.

Silver Companions works diligently to find compassionate and reliable care providers who will provide outstanding care. We only hire warmhearted, well trained and experienced care providers. In most cases, the same companion will be sent each time to ensure continuity of care.  Also, a care coordinator will accompany the caregiver to provide a personal introduction to the client.  This process helps ensure that the client is comfortable and at ease with the caregiver.

Every care provider undergoes a thorough screening process to ensure that we only present the most qualified care providers. Silver Companions care providers are carefully selected and matched to meet your needs. We offer ongoing training to all of our home care providers on many different aspects of care and how to provide quality care.  By providing free in-house & on line training sessions and paying care providers for their time spent in training, we ensure our staff has the opportunity to excel in the care they provide. By making this investment in our care team, it has enabled us to minimize turnover and thus keep our home care affordable, while constantly improving quality. We encourage your involvement in the decision-making process. You must be satisfied with a caregiver, since you are the one receiving care.

We go to great lengths in our screening criteria:

  • In-depth personal interview to determine skill set and experience
  • Extensive Criminal Background Check
  • Fingerprinted Staff
  • License/certificate verification in accordance with State of GA
  • Detailed Reference checks
  • Dementia Training for Better Communication
  • Health screenings
  • Drug Screening
  • TB Test
  • CPR & First Aid certification
  • Blood-borne pathogens training
  • Meal Planning Training
  • On-going Training

Once approved for hire, each care provider undergoes a thorough orientation prior to placement. Care Providers are assessed every 90 days with client and management input, including performance reviews by our Registered Nurse.
